How long will Satan burn in Hell?

Satan will not only be burned up and devoured by fire He will also be brought to Ashes. Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ASHES upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee. Ezekiel 28:18 (Emphasis supplied)

Rev 20:9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them. (WICKED WILL BE DEVOURED)

Rev 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

DEVIL WILL BURN FOR AGES AND AGES UNTIL HE IS BROUGHT TO ASHES AS MENTIONED IN EZE 28:18

The greek word forever should have been translated as ages and ages.

A proper understanding of hell fire can be learned from a similar hell fire in the past.

2 Peter 2:6—”And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly.”

The fire of Sodom and Gomorrow is the example of what will happen to ungodly. Morever the Sodom and Gomorrow fire is called as ETERNAL FIRE.

Jude 7—”Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of ETERNAL FIRE.” (Emphasis supplied)

After all the other wicked burn satan burns further for ages and ages because. Eugene gives the below calculation in his book Deeper Final That the scapegoat (representing satan) bears the sins of the congregation in the Day of Atonement • That there have been an estimated 35 to 70 billion persons alive since creation • That if only 1 in 700 of 35 billion were saved at last, that would be 50 million • That if the Devil burned only two minutes for each of these persons, that would come to 190 years.

Malachi 4:1 For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yes, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.

Matthew 10:28—”And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.”

  1. I was wondering if you ever thought of changing the layout of your website?
Its very well written; I love what youve got to say. But maybe you could a
little more in the way of content so people could
connect with it better. Youve got an awful lot of text for only having
1 or 2 images. Maybe you could space it out better?

  2. Is Satan still alive? Verse 18 states that it is already done: “Therefore I brought fire from your midst; It devoured you, And I turned you to ashes upon the earth In the sight of all who saw you.”.

  3. If Jesus paid for the sins of the world and there was three days of torment (lashing, beating and finally crucifixion) before he was rendered unconscious, then there might be an upper limit to suffering or “punishment compression” for the extremely wicked.

I would have thought that Satan would have a greater punishment for the sins of the lost and the sins of the demons than anything he tempted the saved into doing (because he indirectly invoked their deaths), although mankind and demons also have a responsibility for their own sin so it’s not all on the devil.

If there’s a merciful upper limit to how long someone lasts in the fire, for instance – related to the command in Deuteronomy 25:2-3 about not exceeding 40 lashings, then maybe he won’t go on years. I’d expect at least as much suffering for Satan as for Jesus. Clearly he’s going to have the movie villain’s grueling finale.

Also it seems spirit beings are a bit more impervious to destruction than humans, such that Satan is not wiped out 1000 years previously by the brightness of God’s coming, so he may take naturally longer to incinerate. I don’t know what it takes to kill an angel.

Satan is still alive, yes – a lot of things written in the Bible are written in past tense but apply to the future, although some Bible translations put Ezekiel 28:18 in future tense and some don’t.
